The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change is responsible for formulating, coordinating and overseeing national policies, laws and programmes relating to environmental protection, climate change, sustainable natural-resource management, forestry, biodiversity and conservation.
Its overall objective is to promote a clean, healthy and resilient environment while supporting sustainable economic and social development in Sierra Leone.
The Government portal describes the Ministry as responsible for environmental policies and laws promoting climate resilience, sustainable natural-resource management and conservation of forests, wetlands and biodiversity.
